Our team has been instrumental in developing a system that not only optimizes the ergonomics of the operators’ workstations but also streamlines the often cumbersome task of daily paperwork.

The design of this control room was meticulously crafted to prioritize seamless communication among operators without compromising their ability to monitor the video wall at the front of the room.

The control room features an innovative layout that promotes open communication and collaboration. Operators are strategically positioned in clusters to monitor related tasks in unison, facilitating verbal communication. At the same time, the layout ensures that operators can maintain a clear line of sight to the video wall by having a low back wall.

American Transit Room

The operators in this room required a workspace that offered both privacy and a panoramic view of the numerous monitors, all while keeping the video wall in sight. This unique challenge was met by Tresco, who provided a curving console that not only accommodated the vast array of monitors but also created a cockpit-like atmosphere.

This innovative design not only enhanced the ergonomic comfort of the operators but also fostered a sense of immersion and focus. The curved console allowed operators to maintain a clear line of sight to the video wall, ensuring that they could monitor critical data without any obstructions. At the same time, the console’s curvature created a more intimate workspace, providing operators with a sense of privacy and concentration.

After multiple years of service, this North American TRACON control room needed an upgrade. The outdated consoles were no longer suitable for the fast-paced demands of air traffic control, and operators were facing increased physical strain and inefficiency.

Tresco stepped in to lead the retrofit, providing new control room consoles designed with ISO 11064 ergonomic principles in mind. The consoles featured monitors imbedded directly into the consoles, angled to maximize visibility all while having an open field of view over them, and integrated technology that streamlined the workspace. Cutting-edge features like cable management, custom document and equipment storage, and sit-stand functionality provided both comfort and functionality.
